This is a low-key race offering challenging competition for the experienced duathlete
while providing an excellent opportunity for beginners to test their mettle on their first race.
Proceeds support Cycle Wyoming and safe cycling in the state and communities.

5K Run, 25K Bike, 2K Run (note the two run legs have been reversed from previous years)

Costs: $25 for individual; $35 for teams
Entries increase another $10 on race day!
Youth ages 13 to 18 may compete in the adult course with FREE ENTRY
Youth Course (Ages 12 and Under):
1/2 mile Run, 1 mile Bike, 100 yd Run

2010 Results

Mother Nature didn't cooperate very well with the event this year. Conditions were cold and wet.

Still, hardy athletes showed up and made the event a success.

Where: Kiwanis Park (Hayes St. and Wyoming Blvd.) West Laramie
To Get There: From I-80: Take Snowy Range Exit, heading west. Follow Snowy Range Road; take right-hand fork (headed north) when road splits between Highways 130 and 230. Take Highway 130 to Kiwanis Park, approximately ¼ mile.
From Highway 287: Follow 3rd Street to intersection with Snowy Range Road/Clark Street. Turn west and go over viaduct. Follow Snowy Range Road and continue as described above from I-80.

EVENT DETAILS

Timing:
Provided by High Plains Harriers.
Helmets:
Are required for ALL cyclists.
Start Times:
Youth Course: 9 a.m.
Adult Course: 9:20 a.m.
Awards:
Special awards to top male and female individual winners and top adult team.
Merchandise, gift certificates, ribbons, or medals to the top finishers, up to 5 places deep, in individual and team categories.
All youth finishing the youth course will receive a prize.
Uncontrollable Conditions:
The Laramie Duathlon is a 'rain or shine' event. No matter what the weather the event will go on. Temperatures in Wyoming by mid-June can be somewhat cool. Winds can be a factor on the bike ride but, if the wind direction follows the norm, it should be a headwind on the first half of the ride and a tailwind on the return trip. Laramie is at an elevation of 7,200 feet.
Features:
Water bottles and embroidered event socks will be provided to all participants.
Post-race catered brunch from Turtle Rock Cafe available to all participants and volunteers.
There will be a limited number of additional tickets for the brunch, which may be purchased at the event for non-participant friends and family on a first come, first served basis.
Awards Ceremony:
Following the Adult Race at approximately 11:30.
Team Age Categories:
For teams there are three age categories, based on combined ages of the two team members. There are also three gender categories.
Age: 40 and under, 41 to 70, and 71 and over
Gender: Men, Women, Mixed
