Headphones are not allowed when cyclists are riding on the road. Hearing is impaired and it creates a safety hazard; therefore the use of headphones is not allowed on the Tour de Wyoming - while riding.
Participants under the age of 18 are required to have an adult accompany them on the ride.
Riders under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult ON THE ROAD at all times.
We enjoy having young riders but be certain youngsters are safe on the highway.
We have had kids in the past who clearly were not familiar with highway riding and tended to ride out in traffic!
Also, the Tour de Wyoming sag support is not meant to be used daily and regularly. Sag support is there when needed, more on an emergency or occassional basis - not a free taxi.

Overnight camping accommodations include gym space and tenting options. We will be staying primarily at local schools. Showers will be available each evening.
If you prefer a more civilized approach, motels are available in all our overnight destinations. Transport to and from the motel are your own responsibility. We recommend pedaling to the motel and carrying overnight gear in a knapsack. You can keep your heavy duffel on the luggage truck overnight.

Rest stops will provide snacks, water and power drink every 15 to 20 miles.
Typical rest stop foods: fresh fruit, peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches, various types of cookies, and the ever-popular Salted Nut Rolls.
A rest stop schedule (with start and end times for each stop) will be provided at the start of the tour.
We provide Port-a-potties as needed, but not at all rest stops. Their locations will be specified on the tour map.
If you wear out, get too tired, or just want a break, we'll have vehicles available to give you a ride down the road a ways or to the day's destination.
This SAG support is meant to help on occassion; it is not meant to carry a rider each day to the next destination.
Train for the ride appropriately and use the SAG only when needed - it is not a taxi service.

Mitch Bock of Laramie's Fine Edge Bike and Ski Shop will join us again this year!
It is important that you are equipped to repair your own flats. Carry a tube, repair kit and pump on your bike. Mitch and all the mechanics will be on his bikes each day but available for major repair at the end destination each day. All repairs are paid by each rider.

All staff and support crew on the Tour de Wyoming are volunteers. Cycle Wyoming is a non-profit organization promoting health and fitness across Wyoming.
VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST WITH DAILY OPERATIONS ARE NEEDED.
IF YOUR SPOUSE/FRIEND WOULD LIKE TO HELP US OUT, LET US KNOW.
Volunteer bike medics are needed as well. As a volunteer you would carry a small first aid kit and be prepared to render aid if needed. Bike medics still pay the entry fee.

If you have family or friends coming along, driving your own support vehicle, that is fine although we ask for the following considerations:
- Please, no generators. If your trailer includes a generator you need to find different arrangements on where to park. Our school arrangements are typically pretty tight and the noise from a generator affects a rather large perimeter.
- If you bring pets, they must be under control and clean up after your pets.
- There are NO PLUG-INs at our overnight locations. If you prefer hook-ups, please find a nearby RV park instead.
The Tour de Wyoming provides a continental breakfast (such as bagels, muffins, coffee and juice) each morning. Restaurants are near all our overnight locations for those wanting a more substantial breakfast. Other meal costs are each rider's responsibility. In the small communities we will have an optional group evening meal available (cost $8 to $10). We hope to have a vegetarian option at each meal.
Rest stop food consists of fruit, breads, and an assortment of other items. The later rest stops on our long days will also have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
