Elections for BikeNet Board and Social Time
1. ELECTIONS: There is still time to volunteer to be nominated for election to the BikeNet board - we'll take volunteers up until the last minute, but now is a great time to think about whether you'd like take part in this important club function. Attached is a current list of bio's from those who have volunteered already. To be added, just send an email to bikenet@wyoming.com expressing your interest in being elected, and include your own bio to be added to this list.

2. SUGGESTIONS: Please bring suggestions for monthly meetings and/or activities, as well! We'd like to get some ideas for future meetings and directions that you'd like to take the club in the coming year.

3. DUES: Also - Remember that BikeNet dues are payable once again from mid-March until April (your current membership cards have an expiration date of April 2005). Please plan to pay at the meeting if you can! $15 individual, $25 family... Mike will give you your new membership card at the meeting.

4. ALBERTSON'S COMMUNITY PARTNERS: If you have not received your Albertson's Community Partners card (when you use it at Albertson's, BikeNet receives a percentage of the sale) please contact Mike Harokopis at acmemb2@aol.com so that he can be sure to get a card to you! Show both cards at the check-out and your Partners card will be linked to your Albertson's card so that you only have to use one card the next time you purchase. BikeNet receives a check each quarter for participating in this program - benefits help pay for the helmets that we provide to the community at Freedom Has a Birthday..

5. MEMBERSHIP: Even if you don't attend meetings, but are on this mailing list, please consider becoming an official member of BikeNet by contributing to our organization annually. Thanks! Memberships can also be mailed to Laramie Bicycling Network, PO Box 2334, Laramie WY 82073-2334. Please make checks payable to Laramie Bicycling Network. You are also entitled to have an Albertson's Community Partners card!

6. VIRTUAL RIDES, PRE-SEASON TRAINING AND SUMMER SERIES CHALLENGES: There is still time to sign up to take part in the year-long virtual rides and pre-season training competition with Cheyenne Cycling Club! We currently have 16 participants in the program... and we DON'T want to lose to Cheyenne, do we?? So, if you missed the announcement about this before, please don't delay in responding to the challenges now!
The pre-season training mileage challenge begins March 1 and ends April 30th. Virtual ride information has been sent to those who already requested more info, but you can join in this anytime throughout the year. Virtual ride miles are accumulated throughout the year, with your choice of three different rides to do (~500 mi, ~750 mi, ~1200 mi) and a certificate of completion for each, or do all three and earn a special award! Pre-season miles will be totaled for each BikeNet participant in four different age categories for each gender... competing against CCC members in each category.
The Summer Series challenge is still in development, but will involve a series of challenges throughout the summer for mountain biking, as well as road biking. Details will follow ...
For complete details, just email me. All participants MUST be BikeNet (or CCC) members! And, yes, you can pay your dues at the next BikeNet meeting or by mail (see #5 above).

7. IN SEARCH OF WEBSITE DEVELOPER... Are you interested in volunteering to be the BikeNet website developer? Please contact me at bikenet@wyoming.com ! We have the domain name and website host - just need someone to come up with some great ideas to put it all together, making info easier to obtain for club members.

8. DEAD DOG CLASSIC - IN SEARCH OF...
DO YOU HAVE AN R.V.? Would you be willing to bring it to the DEAD DOG ROAD RACE on SATURDAY, JUNE 25? We would like to find someone with an RV - with an awning and a generator - to help at the Dead Dog registration in Albany on Saturday, June 25th. We'd like to have it in Albany for race registration that morning from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. The RV would need to be set up by 7 a.m. and available until all race data is entered and race starts are printed. If you can help with this, please contact Cat Martin at bikenet@wyoming.com. We can give you race sponsorship credit if you can help!
WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A DEAD DOG VOLUNTEER? Plenty of new volunteer opportunities this year. Please see me (Cat) at the March 8th meeting or email me at bikenet@wyoming.com. We'll be updating the Dead Dog website to show what volunteer positions are still needed and let you know when it's UP!
DO YOU HAVE A COOL MUSCLE OR CLASSIC CAR? Make sure that Phil Martin has you on his contact list for Lead/Follow cars for the Road Race on Saturday, June 25. Email Phil at pmartin1946@hotmail.com or pmartin@uwyo.edu ... or call him at 755-9260.
